Mary Lou Wiskowski served as Executive Director of the Appaloosa
Sport Horse Association from the early 1990’s until 2004. Mary
Lou selflessly continued in this capacity for the Association despite
her own personal battle with cancer. In the spring of 2004, Mary Lou
succumbed to her illness.
We at ApSHA are determined to continue Mary Lou’s work to provide
a home for Sport Horses of Appaloosa Heritage the world over. Mary
Lou and the founders of ApSHA had a dream that the Appaloosa Sport
Horse would be recognized world wide as the athlete it once was before
the heavy influx of modern halter lines. We share that dream and hope
to make it a reality in our lifetimes!
Thank you, Mary Lou, for all you did for ApSHA! May you rest in peace
while leaping towering clouds aboard the Fairy herself.
